Shared reading is a strategy that engages students with a text in a way that promotes comprehension, fluency, and enjoyment of reading. Shared reading allows students to participate actively in the reading process, learn new vocabulary, and build confidence in their reading skills. The structure allows instruction to cover multiple curriculum standards in short, engaging lessons. Through shared reading every child will see themselves as a reader and share their love of reading with others.
