In this session, participants will be introduced to a wide range of ways of both teaching vocabulary, and the importance of vocabulary to build and deepen students understanding and confidence in math. We will go over different examples between the middle school and high school grade levels that vertically align through our curriculum that will help students retain more of their math knowledge and build off what they already know. We will also go over some problems that have shown up on both past STAAR and SAT tests, and how the power of vocabulary will be in helping them answer these questions.
