About me
Hi, I’m Layne Pethick—a guy who loves all things regarding the human brain and has spent a lifetime trying to figure out why we humans do what we do. By day, I’m a Neuro-Cognitive and Neuro-Behavioral Coach and a Behavior and Autism Spectrum Disorders Master Consultant for the great state of Texas. By night, I’m probably reading something nerdy about how screen time messes with your head, chasing my next big idea, or playing hockey (because we all need a good outlet for stress)!
I’ve been called a lot of things over the years—teacher, administrator, district trainer, program director, professor, consultant, and more. My academic credentials might make me sound fancy: a Ph.D. in Business Leadership, a Master’s in Special Education focused on Human Behavior and Autism Spectrum Disorder, and three bachelor’s degrees in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, and Reading…but at the end of the day I just like learning and finding new ways to make the world a better place.
For more than 20 years, I’ve been neck-deep in brain research, tackling big questions about behavior, learning, autism, trauma, mental health, and more. I’ve shared my insights everywhere from the U.S. to Mexico, Hong Kong, Canada, and Vietnam, collaborating with educators and organizations to improve lives and classrooms alike.
At the end of the day, my mission is simple: to make sense of the human mind while making a difference. Whether I’m speaking at a conference, training a team, or just pondering life’s quirks, I aim to blend expertise with a touch of humor (because let’s face it, the brain is both fascinating and hilarious).
